In what become a very close race for the top position in the FSSL 1st division, Real edged out the Aztecs to claim their 1st Division title in the teams 3 year history. It was an exceptional year for the team who boasted record goals, goal differentials, and teamwork. The Thursday evening training sessions would often bring 20 players to attend. Coach McMaster was consistently present to organize the training all while maintaining a great record. In the 13 division 1 games, Real scored a remarkable 50 goals whilst only allowing 20 for a positive goal differential of 30. In 6 Premier cross-over games, Real scored 18 goals and allowed 14. "The team did very well. It is exciting as a coach to see such great progress from a talented group of guys," commented Coach Chris McMaster. The Division 1 championship game will be played on Sunday May 31st at SFC Real's home field at 11am. Come support your league title winners! |

The first game for SFC Real in their conquest of the FSSL 1st Division Cup was an away game in Zephyrhills FL. After driving 15 miles east of I-75, a soccer complex appeared and so did their opponent. Calling this game "wild" would be an understatement. Both teams fought a hard, clean game as several players new each other. The heated battled was both on the field and in the sky. A warm day would test the players as the game went to overtime. The first goal was scored by Steve Hansen from Real off a back post cross from Mario Allende. Steve headed the ball down and it trickled into the net for a 1-0 lead. 10 minutes later Kickers Scotland Yard would profit from a mistake by Real. The ball landed nicely for the opponents and was placed into the side netting. The second half was full of miscues, bad decisions and penalty kicks. Scotland Yard found themselves taking a penalty when the referee pointed to the spot after a foul inside the box. The subsequent kick was pinged off the crossbar and cleared by Real. Escaping that was important for the psyche of Real. Leading goal scorer Jacobo Becerra gave Real the lead after an assist from Adam DeClerico snuck through to Becerra. He easily netted the ball to make the score 2-1. Again the lead was matched by Scotland Yard as a hand ball inside the box gave them yet another penalty. This time, the ball made it into the net for a 2-2 score. Overtime ensued. FSSL requires that two-15 minute overtime halves are played with no golden goal. In the game yesterday, the score remained 2-2 after the extra 30 minutes of play. The penalty lineup for Real was strong and it was proven in the game's final score. Jacobo Becerra, Adolfo Jimenez, Sebastian Marin, and Adam DeClerico would score their penalties to beat Kickers Scotland Yard 4-3 in penalties. Real advances to the finals but date is TBA. Season Now Over, and Everything to Play For |

With the website down and the inability to provide coverage of the team, I am here to announce the team is moving forward. A recent loss against division rivals SPC Aztecs, Real was destined to finish the season with a victory. Despite playing well against the Aztecs, the 1-0 defeat gave Real ammunition to play better against Dynamo New Tampa. The truth set them free as they ended the season with a 3-0 victory over Dynamo. Now with the season over and the chance at being champions of 1st divison being unlikely, Coach McMaster has been motivating the team to play for the repeat of state title. "We have become stronger with a few new additions that will further make us a true contender in the tournaments to come." Real has entered into FSSL Division Cup and the State Cup. Real gave Clearwater Galactics a thrashing last year in the state cup final with a final score of 9-2. For the the division cup draw, click Division 1 Cup Draw.
